The Gods of Blissville is a webcomic, where a band of gypsies uncover ancient secrets, defy oppression, and awaken the gods.
In a world not unlike our own, society is bound by an unyielding faith in the gods. Ruled by a divine order, a strict religious regime that governs every aspect of life, the Faithkeepers. Stories of the gods’ power and wisdom have been passed down for millennia, but the truth of their origins remains shrouded in mystery, obscured by time and the dogma of the Faithkeepers, enforcers of the Order’s will. In this world, questioning the gods is a crime, and belief is the foundation of control. At the heart of this society lies a rigid caste system, dividing people into ranks that determine their worth and purpose. At the top are the Clerics and Nobles, revered as gods. Below them are the laborers and artisans, whose toil sustains the world. At the very bottom are the slaves, stripped of freedom but still considered part of the Order’s design. But even lower than slaves are the nomads—the gypsies. Wandering from place to place, they are seen as outcasts, cursed by the gods and shunned by all. They are the untouchables, existing outside the Divine Order’s rigid structure. Accused of heresy and deceit, they live on the fringes of society, surviving through cunning and resourcefulness.
